ANEWHERE: a fitting answer to every logistics question

ANEWHERE carries trade goods, fast and reliably to the right destination. Whether by land, sea or air, ANEWHERE arranges the most effective and cost-efficient transport, worldwide. Mike van Mierlo and Sven Nijenhuis started this company in April 2017 and have been growing fast since day one.
From their own vision to their own company
Mike and Sven previously worked together at a large logistics provider. We saw opportunities there, how things could be done differently: easier, better, faster and more efficiently, Sven says. Unfortunately little was done with our ideas, so we started for ourselves. We registered with the Chamber of Commerce and thought it would take a while before we got our first assignment. We still had to arrange everything, from a business bank account to the TMS. But on day three we already received our first request, and from then on the ball started rolling fast.
The greatest compliment
Mike and Sven know what they are talking about. We know the market, we know what is in demand, and we have a large network, Sven says. Our customers do not have this network, nor the time to figure everything out. That is where ANEWHERE comes in. We often get positive feedback like: impressive what you can arrange, and so quickly too. Other companies specialise in a route or a country; we deliberately do not. That way we operate in many different markets and keep building up more know-how. With our flexible approach we have a fitting answer to every logistics question, and I am quite proud of that.
No is not in the vocabulary
Every day is different, and that gives Sven a lot of energy. Running your own company involves a great deal, and that brings a different dynamic each day. Sometimes things do not go exactly as you want, but troubleshooting is precisely the reason I work in this sector. We often come up with a unique solution for the customer, because we do not sell a no. When asked whether we also handle air freight, I answer yes right away, and then we come up with a plan, because there is always a solution to be found.
Growing by staying small
We are a relatively small company, Sven says. If you call us and get me on the phone, then I am also the one who helps you. You are not unceremoniously transferred five times. If a customer has a question, we help them within 30 minutes. Our mission is to keep transport simple, easy, of good quality and sharply priced. In our view, you do not have to be a firm with 100 trucks at all. If our customers let us do what we are good at, they can keep doing what they are good at.
Moving forward together with a cloud TMS
A TMS is crucial to the way ANEWHERE works. After we started, we immediately looked for a suitable TMS, Sven says. We wanted to work flexibly and precisely not be tied to a costly server of our own. We are increasingly heading towards a flexible, digital future, including in logistics, where place-bound work from nine to five is no longer the norm. We received a login and could get started right away. They arranged the rest, and they still do. That leaves us free of worries and lets us keep our focus on ANEWHERE. It is great to see that they use entrepreneurs as the guide for their own product. They contribute a great deal of thought, and that is a very fresh way of working together.
